Trumpeter, Multi-Instrumentalist, Composer
Nic Weaver is a Kansas City-based trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer currently studying music at the University of Kansas. In 2024, Nic joined the Midway Brass, an internationally recognized brass quintet featuring graduate and undergraduate students. An active freelancer in Kansas City, Nic performs at weddings and private events across the world with the Crossroad Sound.
In 2026, Nic Weaver was selected as a semifinalist in the Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition jazz improvisation division and chamber music division. Some other notable achievements of Nic's include performance as international soloists at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan with The Midway Brass (2025), performance at the international Festival Ljubljana Brass Quartets and Quintets Competition with the Midway Brass (2025), performing in the pit orchestra for "Annie" at the Kauffman Center in Kansas City (2025), performance as an international soloist at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy with the KU Jazz Ensemble (2024), and performance as a finalist in the WTS International Solo Competition (2021).
In addition to playing the trumpet, Nic spends time composing, arranging, and recording music across diverse genres. He has recorded for clients across 50 different countries on trumpet, trombone, French horn, saxophone, and piano.
